What Artificial Grass Is New For 2017 and what features should you be looking out for to ensure you have the latest and most advanced artificial grass available?

As the artificial grass market continues to rapidly grow year on year, new and ever so slightly more advanced artificial grass is developed as competitors look to gain the edge.

So what features should you now be looking out for?

10 Year Guarantees: It used to be that artificial grass is plastic so it would last a while anyway. Gradually as each year went by, retails began to offer 1-5 year guarantees as their product was improved. Now though with such substantial improvement having been made, you should be looking for artificial grass where retailers offer 10 year guarantees. The reason being not just because you can make a claim if something goes wrong but mainly as this shows the confidence behind the products manufacturing. You can be sure the backing will be stronger with more resilient strands that look more realistic and maintain their appearance for longer.

- Realism: The days are gone where you just pick your favourite shade of green plastic lawn. Today you should be looking for artificial grass that comprises of 3, 4 or 5 different strands that have been stitched into the backing. Of these strands you should always have at least 2 different shades of green and at least 1 shade of brown thatching. As with as natural lawn, grass is made up of different shades of green that when you stand back to look appears as one green grass colour. The brown thatching represents the dead grass underneath, adding to the realisim. The better the artificial grass in general, the higher the number of varied strands within the lawn.

- Colour Matching: Only applicable if you are joining two or more pieces of artificial grass together. Each roll of artificial grass ever manufactured can always vary ever so slightly in colour because there isn’t yet a way of guaranteeing every die batch is the same. Colour matching therefore guarantees your artificial grass looks the same once installed.

- Value For Money: Although this is a generic term and widely used by retailers (most of whom don’t actually provide value for money), it’s something you should be looking out for and you just need to know the points and prices. So to save you researching, we’ve listed the points below:
